I'm Full

The day to day management of Type 1 can be overwhelming to both the child with diabetes as well as the parent.

Raising a kid is hard enough- we couldn't imagine tackling diabetes on top of that. But we did, and we keep doing it.

Do you ever have one of those days that you felt that you were at your limit? That you were full?

I think we all do. Some days I say that diabetes won and others I say that we won - in keeping the monster @ bay. You just hope that you have more days than diabetes does.

Yes! I've recently started reading your blog, since my 3 year old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 less- than three months ago. You give me encouragement! Thanks!

Yes, totally. We've reached our one year mark and my 7 yo daughter moved to a pump on December 21st. Whole new ballgame as we constantly do BG checks day and night to get her basal rates set up. We try to never let diabetes control us and we keep a very positive attitude but these past couple of weeks it has stolen our sleep and that is tough.
